ABSTRACT
The study was aimed at investigating transformational leadership; engagement and performance, a case study of City Ministries of EMS of ECWA, Jos. The survey research was used in this study to sample the opinion of respondents. This method involved random selection of respondent who were administered with questionnaires. The target population of the study comprised members of selected Units in City Ministries of EMS of ECWA, Jos. The questionnaire administered was one hundred and ten (110) copies and one hundred copies retrieved which constitute the sample size. The descriptive and analytical approach was adopted using Chi-square to test and analyze the hypotheses earlier stated. The findings revealed transformational leadership has a significant effect on the performance of City Ministries, there is a significant relationship between transformational leadership and engagement of followers in City Ministries and that employee engagement has a mediating role on the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational performance. It was therefore concluded from the findings that employee engagement has a mediating role on the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational performance. It was recommended that Head of organizations should work to create a variety of programs to develop employees into leaders with transformational leadership so that more of these leaders can act as leaders in the organization.

Leadership is a very important factor in an organization because most of success and failure of an organization is determined by leadership. Leadership is known to be a valuable asset for corporate, states and units. Leadership is crucial for effective functioning of any organization. The fundamental of leadership is its persuading power on human resources, organizations' source of competitive advantage, and the resultant outcomes. In swaying followers and harnessing organization member's selves to their work roles, leaders must enhance employees' motivation as having engaged employees is critical for organization to achieve its goal.
